The Italian Multiplier Event was held in Palermo, Italy on the 14th of October 2023 in the unique venue of Carmelitani Convent in the historical city centre of Palermo. Many NGOs and other stakeholders in Palermo regularly attend events at Carmelitani Convent - it is one the most representative places in Palermo where youth workers meet. So, the location was perfect to present and showcase A.N.T.Y.G.O.N.E. intellectual outputs.
The objective was to offer to the target groups of the project (theatres, young actors, facilitators, social workers and NGOs working with disadvantaged target groups) exposure to A.N.T.Y.G.O.N.E. toolkit and activities so as to provide new tools for the empowerment of youth workers who want to work with theatre methods for the social inclusion of disadvantaged youth. Participants (more than 30 people) came from different target groups: young performers, theatre practitioners, third sector social workers, young professionals assisted to the multiplier event enjoying food, theatre and A.N.T.Y.G.O.N.E. results.
The event was carried out with an introductory PowerPoint presentation which introduced the project: partners, objectives, intellectual outputs, activities implemented at local level. After the preliminary presentation, a live performance together with a networking aperitivo closed the event. Full participation of the audience was guaranteed by Dario Ferrante, Teatro alla Guilla project manager, who constantly interacted with the participants.
The multiplier event was an occasion for the dissemination and exchange of ideas and experience gained through theatre experiences. After the presentation and a question time, the event carried on with a live theatre performance of Teatro alla Guilla “O.E.D.Y.P.U.S.” project and a networking session with an aperitivo offered by Teatro alla Guilla. Testimonials from the piloting sessions in Italy and NGOs involved in the project participated in the final event. The target groups, theatres, NGOs, associations and young actors had the opportunity to check A.N.T.Y.G.O.N.E. toolkit and its effectiveness when presenting the training path carried out to perform A.N.T.Y.G.O.N.E. method. Big interest was shown by participants to the best practices presented by Dario Ferrante and included in the WP3 - Recommendations for practitioners.
