ALTER EGO (X) is a European theatre company based in Annecy and created in 2019. It promotes a pictorial and transdisciplinary theatre which questions the current society on the European territory. Europe is our common territory. The theatre stage is a place for debates and dialogue. We are all fragments of stories that constitute a common story. To be inspired by others, to explore together, to exchange, to learn, all this is only possible by becoming aware of this European whole and thus of the richness of the human beings that make it up. ALTER EGO (X) articulates its work under three programmes:

- Transmission: collective creative process with non-professional artists ;

- Laboratory: European artistic, cultural and educational cooperations to tackle current big issues in the society and advocacy work to promote culture and arts in Europe;

- Creation: artistic production.

As Julie Crantelle and Théo Majcher the co-founders of the company also worked in the production of national and international cultural events, they offer trainings in French theatre schools to enable young artists to understand as well as possible the cultural environment in France and abroad. To finish they also offer artistic and educational modules in secondary schools, high schools and universities to understand and talk about Europe and the society in general through the use of theatre. To take theatre as a means for non-formal education regarding the European territory, another forms to let pupils and students (young citizens) to express themselves.

ALTER EGO (X) takes the European dimension as a key aspect of its development. This is the reason why it is a member of IETM and an associated member of ENCC, both European cultural networks funded by the Creative Europe programme.
